A Case of Ischemic Heart Disease Diagnosed by SPECT (Single Proton Emmision Computed Tomography) in Child

Abstract
Ischemic heart disease is a rare clinical entity in childhood defined by WHO as "myocardial impairment due to imbalance between coronary blood and myocardial requirements caused by changes in the coronary circulation. " Pediatrician can see this
ischemic pattern is various conditions, such as the early stage of reduced coronary blood flow from neonatal stress, and anomalous left coronary artery arising from the pulmonary trunk or mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome (Kawasaki's disease).
It could be made the diagnosis with EKG, EKG stress tests, coronary artery angiography, Holtor monitoring, and myocardial SPECT. The authors experienced a case of ischemic heart disease in a 11 year old girl who had reccurent chest pain and
palpitations. Diagnosis was made by myocardial SPECT (single proton emission computed tomography). However other diagnostic methods, EKG, EKG stress tests, 24-hour Holter monitoring, showed no characteristic findings.
